Clownfish - peacful marine fish

Easy and very peaceful marine fish for saltwater beginners. Also, keeping them with anemones is not necessary. Only keep anemones if you have the proper aquarium lighting.

Do not mix the various clown species. If you have a mix of different clown species in your tank, they will fight. If you have a host anemone in the aquarium with them, they will defend it. It usually works out best if you have only one or a pair of clowns in your tank.

All clownfishes are males when they are born. As they start to pair off the dominant one will change into a female. The female is usually larger than the male and will be the primary defender of their territory.

Yellow headed jawfish

Interesting article about the yellow headed jawfish

The yellow-headed jawfish is proudly included in this saltwater collection because it has many traits that make it suitable for the aquarium. This species is relatively easy to collect, holds and ships well, adapts well to captive conditions, and it's good-looking and behaviorally interesting. This species needs adequate bottom space (1 to 2 square feet per specimen) made up of mixed rubble and soft sand to allow permanent tunneling. It also needs a complete top to prevent it from launching out of its system.

Additional costs of marine fish tanks

Choosing between freshwater fish tanks and marine fish tanks  may lead you to decide on the low maintenance freshwater version.

One of the first needs of having a marine fish tank is to have at least a 50-gallon fish tank. This is an extra cost. The freshwater tank doesn’t need a minimum size for the tank. The 50-gallon demand can make sure that the atmosphere is work to be a healthy environment for marine animals and vegetation.

The maintenance for marine fish tanks is also more expensive. You need to buy high-quality pumps and filters to keep the balance in the environment and maintain the correct salinity. You also need to invest in salt mixes and test kits.

Why You Need Cleaner Shrimps in Marine Aquariums

Adding cleaner shrimps not only enhances the beauty and aesthetic value of your marine aquariums but also these little creatures will act as an effective cleanup crew. It is often fascinating to watch them go about with their daily activities as they chew and tear apart the unwanted build-up of algae at the coral reef surfaces and sometimes certain species can also play the role to attract the aquarium fish to get closer to them so that dead skins and parasites are removed by these shrimps from the fishes’ body. Taking into consideration on how useful they can be, it doesn’t come as a surprise that if you ask any aquarist, they will sure tell you that these small crustaceans are perhaps the best addition one can choose to have in any saltwater tank.
